REBAL HUE is back with another Artist On The Rise segment this time with Chicago Native, Pierre King. Pierre King as an independent artist with 90’s R&B attributing to the soundtrack of his life. At an early age, King was impacted by artists such as Prince, Outkast, and Missy Elliott, along with vocalists like Kelis and Brandy’s experimental approach to the Hip-Hop/R&B genre. King wanted to echo what he heard and that inspired him to start making beats at age 12.

Nijel Noel is an up-and-coming artist that has a passion in creating a mix of alternative R&B, contemporary and electronic pop music. Noel was born in New Jersey then later was raised in the suburban’s of Maryland. Noel is no stranger to the underground music scene. When the singer, songwriter and occasional rapper began finding his passion he starting connecting with DJ’s via social media that where
creating club mixes and was asked for collaborative vocals to sample. Having that opportunity sparked a peaked of interest from Malik Trips who often asked him to add supporting vocals to his tracks like “Hi-ChewV2” &”OutroV2” Shortly after Nijel Noel was signed to a Top Modeling agency where he took a break from music and dropped occasional singles like “Been Wonderin”, and “Midnight Calls.”

The Release Of Truly Saiyan EP
Germantown, Maryland rapper Truly Uzi released his first EP Truly Saiyan. The EP is titled Truly Saiyan is in reference to Dragon Ball Z. Uzi explained a Saiyan who has gone through a transformation which multiplies his current power and turns his hair blonde and his eyes
green/light. “So, as a child as I used to watch Dragon Ball Z; I always want to be a super Saiyan and with this cover an album I wanted to create that. The person that I’m becoming a better and stronger me as I am leveling up” said Truly Uzi.

Pushing his versatility, ear for production, and lyricism in his direction. REBAL HUE’s creative director and head editor Asia J meets Landover, MD rapper Kae-9 for a Q&A.
With this year’s early release of Kae-9 latest single Hol’ Up (The Paradigm) there is a greater range of flows explored, a greater range of tones discovered, and a sharper focus throughout the song. When asked to describe his musical style, Kae-9 said “it’s a bit of conscious [rap].” He didn’t want to commit into
saying the music he creates is street music because he doesn’t rap much about the streets. One thing that stood out in response to this question was Kae-9 saying “I like to say something that means something. I ‘don’t like to waste words.” That is an important to admire from an artist. Kae-9 grew up with a musical background gifted by his estranged father’s side of the family such as grandfather playing in a band, his aunt that sings R&B and including his grandmother keeping him the church growing up. Creating music and being apart of music has been a natural environment for him. Check-out this exclusive interview below.
