Luka Sabbat was born to a fashion stylist Mom and a Fashion designer as a Dad. Also, being babysat by the models at the catwalk shows his parents were working at, while the family flitted between work gigs in Paris and New York. In other words, he has designer DNA. Since he was first spotted aged 16 leaving an internship he was doing in New York, the artist formerly known as the coolest teenager in the world (he’s lost the title when he turned 20) has worked hard to remain firmly at the forefront of a youth orientated fashion scene. It has been a huge weekend in the sneaker world. The biggest talk of them was the release of “The Air Jordan 4 “Raptors.” While the shoes itself are a very straightforward colorway treatment inspired by the Toronto Raptors, the origin of the concept is a bit controversial as it traces back to Drake, the Toronto-based superstar that was set to jump ship from Jumpman into the hands of adidas.
The classic Nike Basketball silhouette has been out of the spotlight since February’s “All-Star” version—complete with removable swooshes—dropped, but it’s set to return to market next month in a brand new “Sequoia” colorway.
